Course Overview

Safeguarding children is a shared responsibility. It’s essential to ensure the health and well-being of children and young people, up to age 18, are protected.

This course outlines the roles, responsibilities, and rights involved in safeguarding. You’ll learn to identify signs of child abuse, understand how a parent or carer’s physical and mental health can affect a child, and recognize children's rights in the safeguarding process. The course will guide you on what steps to take if you're concerned about a child's well-being, the available support, and provide an introduction to the fundamentals of safeguarding legislation. Additionally, you’ll explore the potential risks linked to the internet and social media.

This course is ideal for anyone responsible for the care of children and young people, such as childminders, nursery staff, teachers, and teaching assistants.
